Dear Member,

As you may know, the Board of Directors (BOD) organized a General Assembly (GA) on May 8th, 2011 to elect new members to serve as Directors. Unfortunately, the quorum was not met that day and a second GA was scheduled for June 5th, 2011. On June 5th, the GA had barely enough members to meet the quorum but not enough volunteers to agree to serve as new Board members.

Faced with tough choices, the GA realized that AAAGW can’t operate without support from its members and decided the following:

1.        Freeze all activities of the association.
2.        Ramadan Sahra and Eid events will not be celebrated this year. However, community members are welcome to organize any event independently of AAAGW.
3.        A third General Assembly will be held on Sept 17th, 2011 to elect a new Board of Directors.

We sincerely apologize for not being able to organize our traditional Ramadan Sahra and Eid events this year due to the above reasons. I urge you to attend the Sept 17th General Assembly. This is your opportunity to help shape the future and direction of AAAGW.
