If death occurs in a Hospital: 1. Contact the funeral Home and inform them of your desire to have
them handle the body. Follow the instructions given by the funeral home. (See Appendix A ) For example: Universal Mortuary, Inc. (Muslim

2. Go to the Head Nurse's office in the hospital and give them the name of the funeral home whom you authorized to handle the body. 3. The hospital will release the body to the funeral home after the death certificate is signed. 4. Contact the person(s) who will help in washing and wrapping the body and make arrangements with the funeral home. (See Appendix C) 5. Contact the organization from which you have purchased the burial site and request the authorization on interment to be faxed to the funeral home. 6. Contact your local mosque first to find out if they have a Muslim cemetery and if they issue and sale a lot. 7. Then Contact the cemetery and inform them regarding burial site. For example: ·

Here are some
approximated funeral expenses:
* Universal Mortuary, Inc. Staff and facilities to respond to initial request for service; arrangement conference with clergy, obtaining death certificate and necessary permit, coordinating details with cemetery or other parties responsible for disposition of deceased. This fee is already includes immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains. ** Total Charges of Funeral Home and cemetery expenses will be required prior to burial. *** Temporary marker until replacement is purchased additional $27.17 Note: ‑ The simplest is to purchase a headstone engraved with the name of the deceased, date of birth and date of death. - Above prices reflect an adult burial. Price for infants under age 1 range from $250.00 to $750.00 plus cemetery property. ‑ Request adequate number of death certificates from Funeral Home. D. Planning ahead. Get familiar with a funeral home. Visit the funeral home and get telephone, fax and the emergency phone numbers. Obtain and keep the name of a contact person at the funeral home. Purchase and keep in a safe place in your house, body wraps for men and women. The body wraps must be a clean, cotton (non‑silken), preferably white cloth. The materials required are as follows: , For a male body: One (1) piece 4 feet wide by 12 feet long and two (2) pieces 4 feet wide by 8 feet long. For. a female body: One (1) piece 4 feet wide by 12 feet long and four (4) pieces 4 feet wide by 8 feet long. Also obtain and keep in a safe place in your house a non‑alcohol perfume (camphor) 3. Get familiar with the Muslim Burial Grounds at George Washington Cemetery located at: George Washington Cemetery Co., Inc. 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD 20783 (301) 434‑4640 (202) 866‑4640 The Muslim Burial Grounds are located in Section 4, Blocks F and G, on Cemetery Drive. You are encouraged to go and visit the cemetery. Direction to the George Washington Cemetery Take the Beltway and go South on New Hampshire Avenue, make a left on Adelphi Road, and Left on Riggs Road. The entrance of the Cemetery is on the left hand side. 4.
