Talent Show - Drawing Contest
Raffle - Music

AAAGW is planning a memorable celebration on Nov 20th for Eid El-Adha. In addition to a Couscous dinner with authentic Algerian music, raffle, a drawing contest for kids, etc., we are also planning to organize a talent show for kids between the age of 5 to 18.  And, of course we need your help  with the following  J:

  1. We need your presence. So, please mark your calendar. If Nov 20th from 6pm to 10pm is already taken, do the right thing.. scratch whatever is there and replace it with AAAGW event J.

  2. You need to bring your kids with you.  That’s important, we can’t have a talent show for kids if kids are not coming. If your kid plays a music instrument, make sure to bring the instrument with him/her… Hmm! Not the Concert Grand Piano though J.  You can keep that in your living room.
  3. Send a message to nbentahar@hotmail.com with the names and ages of the kids that would be performing.
So, what’s a talent show? It is simply a mean to have fun and demonstrate your talent to an audience. It does not matter what talent you kid have (or doesn’t). The important thing is to allow them to perform on stage whatever they feel like doing and have FUN doing it. They don’t need to be Beethoven or Fellag to perform. Anybody is welcome.

For the drawing contest, we are inviting children from the community to draw or paint a picture depicting a scene from the Eid El Adha celebration. Kids are invited to bring their drawing/painting with their names well written on the project to the upcoming Eid event.

We will have 3 groups ages: 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15. If there are younger children who are talented, they are invited to participate. They will be included in the (age 10-11).

These drawings/paintings will be posted on the wall and a silent rating will take place. The best drawings/paintings will win a prize.

We are considering themes like:  Playing a music instrument, singing, dancing, dancing in groups, juggling, telling jokes, magic tricks, etc.. it really doesn’t matter what theme they pick. The above are just suggestions and we are sure kids want to come up with their own tricks. The important thing is to participate and let their imagination go wild and let them surprise the crowd during the Eid celebration.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at nbentahar@hotmail.com
