Reston, VA – Soothing blues and greens come to life in abstract paintings by Salima Fellah in the Jo Ann Rose Gallery this February. “View From Above” runs from February 1 to March 1, 2010.
Join Salima during her opening reception on Sunday, February 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Gallery.Salima’s art is echoed in the swirling patterns, textures, and depths of her fluid abstracts. She says when painting, she has a “feeling of hovering – like floating above the work” creating the impression of a “View From Above”. She moves fast and improvises to capture the flow of colors that are constantly moving.
She began painting in the early nineties, but her current abstract style was developed during one long weekend in 2006 when her creativity exploded.
Salima’s career as a full-time Software and Chemical Engineer doesn’t leave much time for her passion for art. But when she finds it, she is “taken away to a relaxing world where everything else seems to fade away.” Salima’s work has won several awards.
She is a member of the League of Reston Artists, The Fairfax Art League, and the Arts Council of Fairfax County and her work was selected for an AWSS juried exhibit. Her website is www.safehart.com.
